School of Bio-sciences and Food Engineering
There are five undergraduate specialties in the school, including Food Science and Engineering, Biological Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Food Quality and Safety and Horticulture. There is a provincial key discipline and a provincial research platform, 2 key engineering centers, 2 university experimental platforms and 2 branch offices of Provincial Forestry Association. There are 38 professional teachers, including 9 Professors, 10 Associate Professors, 2 Provincial Eminent Teachers, one “Changbai Mountain” Eminent Teacher with Expertise, 2 teachers awarded with State Council Allowances, 3 supervisors or Doctoral candidate student and 10 supervisorsfor post-graduate student. Over 95% of the teachers have Doctoral or Master’s degree. There are 916 undergraduate students in the school. The school has been equipped with a complete set of professional and open laboratories, providing crucial places for student experiment and training. All the specialties in the school have established a relatively complete set of advanced professional and open laboratories to provide students with the necessary experiment and training. The school has established teaching practice bases with many enterprises and scientific research institutes both inside and outside Jilin Province, which has built up a broad platform for students’ practice and employment.
